1st Annual SSB Open World Championship Tournament - Signup
Hello all Silver Strikers!

I'm pleased to announce that I'm going to make the 1st Annual SSB Open World Championships Tournament (The SOWCs) a reality! Planning has begun!!!!

$100 entry if pre-paid (Not accepting payment yet) - $120 the weekend of. (Does NOT include Friday Night Feast! - must prepay for Friday Night Feast. Includes T-Shirt, entry, and wrist bands for the campsite party). Location - Indianapolis - the last weekend in May (5/27 - 5/29 - Memorial Day Weekend)!

Post your comments and sign up here!

If we have 100 people, then we would be looking at a top prize of up to $4000 - $5000! Not to mention - an absolute BLAST!!!! With enough people, I should also be able to get sponsorship from the operator and the bar - adding anywhere from $2000 - $4000 to the pot.

By making it the last weekend in May (Memorial Day Weekend) - we not only have a long weekend - very cheap accommodations (for all that wish to party) - but the Indy 500 is on 5/29. It is a TOTAL party! Tickets to Carb day on Friday 5/27 are available at the gate (Party, see the cars run the last time before the race, Indy Pro Series race, and big name band). Then we'll have some fun Friday evening/night with a State vs State Tournament to gain bragging rights and a Trophy as the Honorary SSB State Champions (details to be released) / along with DJ'd music (karaoke upon request) and music videos / dancing / Friday Night Feast (Hog Roast - $15-$20 per person T.B.D. - must RSVP and Pre-Pay) / and BYOB!!! (I should be able to arrange to have a few SSB Lives AT the campsite inside a box truck for the tournament on Friday night and open play for tournament attendees and guests only all weekend except Saturday) Saturday 5/28 will be the main tournament. Sunday 5/29 will be the Indianapolis 500 with another party after-wards! Hotels will be available if desired, but we will all be camping in the Coca Cola Lot at the track all weekend (where it's a non-stop party). If you've never been - this is an incredible event and something to experience! I'll arrange a large area where we ALL camp as a group and have DJ equipment / Video Screen (Music Videos, Satellite and Movies) / campfire / and community meals. I will be providing all the equipment. I should be able to obtain a Real Power truck (that I helped develop) so we will have more than enough electricity for everyone all weekend for heaters / TV's / computers / small refrigerators / or whatever you want to bring (visit http://www.realacpower.com for information on the electricity). Anyone is welcome to attend, regardless of entry to the tournament.

Please contact me for sponsorship / involvement / or desire to be the operator (supply machines) via Telly at DTEliteProducts , com

 Re: Open Tournament Possibility
You know I would love to attend, problem with the time frame though. All of Wisconsin's top SSB'ers will be in Vegas at the end of April for my wedding. You are more than welcome to hold a tournament then, but you can't call it the "Open World Silver Strike Championship" without any representation from the "Cheesehead State". If you would be able to push the date back to June/July ish, I'm sure we could make it happen then. Either way, keep us all posted. Talk to you guys soon.

Rob - I originally had the date right around/on his wedding - so I've already changed it. This date gives us the most fun for very little money - and for anyone that hasn't been around the track during the month of May will be amazed! It's so much fun - and for $12.50 a day - you can't beat it!

Looks like I will have have electricity on-site via Real Power (www.realacpower.com), so you can bring electrical items and be great!

My initial response is Yeah !!! I'm in...

But, after the initial excitement dwindles and I think about the cost factor, Just to get there and back I'd be looking at two round trip tickets (Alana - without a doubt would want to go!) plus tournament entry fee, and I'm already at $600.00 just to step off the airplane.

Plus all the additional costs of attending what sounds to be a GREAT time... I'd have to win just to break even...lol

I'll definitely have to toss this around for a little bit...

Gilligan
